Düsseldorf is Germany's most important trade fair city after Frankfurt. Which fairs are worth attending, when hotel rooms get scarce, and when you ought to book early.
The major fairs in 2026
boot Düsseldorf — 17 to 25 January (yachts, boating, diving)
ProWein — 15 to 17 March (one of the largest wine fairs in the world)
Caravan Salon — 28 August to 7 September (the huge motorhome fair)
K — the plastics fair, every three years (next edition October 2028)
MEDICA — 16 to 19 November (the largest medical technology fair in the world)

When rooms are inexpensive
February outside the carnival weeks, the first half of June, and the first three weeks of December. The carnival weeks in the second half of February are expensive, but worth it for the atmosphere.
